The level tour around Manzanita Lake would be ideal for first time skiers except for places along the route where you must pass through dense trees. First time skiers will probably prefer to ski on Lassen Park Road or on the Manzanita Creek Trail which passes through the campground.
Stay off the lake ice, it is unstable and shores may be difficult to recognize under snow.
