This secluded meadow is a delightful location to learn and practice the fundamentals of cross-country skiing. From the highway a short gentle downhill glide to the southeast (the exact direction depends on where you park) takes you to the meadow that is surrounded by aspens. You may want to spend part of your time in the meadow and part on the gradual slopes that surround it.
This area is also the location of ridge tours to Carson Spur, Two Sentinels and Martin Point. Be aware that the easiest of these, to Carson Spur, is significantly more difficult than skiing in Martin Meadow.
