Sunset Rock is a large, flat, open area with fines views to the west. As you might guess from the name of the tour, this tour is great to do late in the day. If you plan to wait for the sunset, be sure to bring warm clothing and a headlamp.

From the trailhead (1) ski northeast for 0.1 mile until you cross the highway and then for another 0.1 mile until you reach Little Deer Creek (2).
Waypoint 2 to 3
Miles: 0.1 - 0.6
Elevation change: +50 feet
Follow the marked trail north for 0.5 mile until you reach a large flat area (3).
Waypoint 3 to 4
Miles: 0.6 - 0.8
Elevation change: -50 feet
Locate the markers where they leave the flat area at its north end and follow the marked trail north as the trail drops for a total of 0.2 mile to Sunset Rock (4).
Waypoint 4 to 1
Miles: 0.8 - 1.6
Elevation change: +50, -50 feet
Retrace the route for 0.8 mile back to the trailhead (1).
